In modern day wedding gatherings and special events, three or four courses like appetizers, bread and curry, plain rice or biriyani, and desserts are served.

  • 2.Kerala Style Bread with Curry
  • After the starter items, the next round begins with Palappam, Vellayappam or Idiyappam (Kerala style Bread) served with a nice vegetarian or non-vegetarian curry.

  • The main dish is usually plain rice served with a main sauce (curry chaaru), one or more vegetarian side dishes, and one or more non-vegetarian side dishes. Besides rice there is Tapioca (Kappa / Cassava). On special occasions, Biriyani, Pulav or Ghee rice is served along with side dishes.
